Earth to Moon

grain edit ยท Mark Weaver.

I have a curious love of 1950s aerospace aesthetics. I love the clean typography. The large columns of tiny text remind me of the backlit instructional text from Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. There’s that great joke in the film with a massive list of instructions for the Zero Gravity Toilet. I’d love a huge print of this for a big white wall.

Cut above the rest

My good friend Brett has a great philosophy he shared with me: “Surround yourself with positive energy”. I think that was a perfect summation of what I try to do all the time. If you make definite actions to remove the people and things that cause trouble in your life, you’re setting yourself up for good things.

As soon as I started doing this, I met my darling friend Izzy. As charming and continually upbeat as she is beautiful, she’s a perfect example of positive energy. She’s also a fantastic hairdresser with a great deal of passion for it and clearly a big future. Seeing her always makes the day a little bit smilier and I know her clients feel the same way.

People like Izzy act as a constant reminder to put your best foot forward, because you don’t really know what you’re stepping closer to.

I promise (other than fancy tea drinking) that’s about as new age as I get.

Growing Up

Just as I have been growing up, so too is this site. You may notice a few small changes such as the new search box up the top. Also, on the comment form there is a tick box to receive followup comments to your email (although there is currently a bug with the multiple forms on one page, I’ll work on it).

I’ve also added a stream where I’ll be saving things I find interesting or inspirational. Articles, photos and snippets from all over the place which I want to refer back to. It’s usually not about me personally, nor written by me (thus why I’ve separated it from the blog), but you still may find it interesting to pop in every now and then.

In the meantime, here’s a pic of me dug out from the photo albums the other day taken at Australia’s (now defunct) Wonderland.
