Storming the Castle

This is old content from my previous blog, EveryGoodBoyDeservesFruit.com. Check out the new stuff too.

Not too long ago I just experienced possibly the most religious fifteen minutes I’ve ever spent on a toilet.

I managed to pick up a stomach bug or something and while there had been a few small tremors throughout the day, what I just endured was less prepared for than the Indonesian Tsunamis. In fact, I bet they sounded pretty similar.

The actual attack was a brilliant display of technical feats and pyrotechnics. I managed to get a fever, break out in a sweat and experience vertigo all from my white seat. At the end of this excruciating ablution, I had little more than my conciousness to convince me that my large intestines were still in roughly the right place.

I’m now working on replacing the fluids I lost, but apart from the occassional quiver, the enemy forces seemed to have retreated.

I wouldn’t normally post on such a delicate subject, but it sounds like you may have the same bug that I’ve recently endured. Good luck, as it lasts a while. As for religious toilet experiences, I had one of those several years ago after an operation on my “nether regions” when going to the toilet for the first time after 10 days also took on a truly transcendental nature.

Pretty sure I had the same thing not so long ago! As did Jeremy. And several other people I know. Nasty stuff.

Natalie had it for like a week – she lost four kilos! I’d hug you but I don’t want to catch anything. I had it for almost a day and that was bad enough. I got off lucky compared to most people!!

First Weekend Over

This is old content from my previous blog, EveryGoodBoyDeservesFruit.com. Check out the new stuff too.

Opening weekend went very well. After three performances I was royaly tired, but I still didn’t get home until 3am this morning (but slept until midday). The audiences seemed to enjoy the show, and the audiences have just been getting better and better. Last night’s audience erupted into laughter often (at the right spots, which is nice), and were extremely appreciative at the end. This was partially because the audience consisted of a group of kids from the children’s theatre.

We did have one scare when two of the cast members were involved in a car accident on the way, but they made it safely to the theatre and were on stage on time for a great show. It was still a tense time, and I was even on the phone to the passenger when the accident occurred. Otherwies, my lyrics have been going well, I haven’t had any emergency ‘re-imaginings’ of lyrics yet, which is somewhat comforting. Other than a little sleep deprivation, sore legs (I stand pretty much the entire show), and a less than perfect voice, I feel pretty good.

I’ve had a few hours now today to sort out the clip of the show on the local news, and I thought I’d share it with you. Beware, you must have a fairly recent Quicktime (if you have iTunes, you should be fine).

1:22, 5.4MBs

Now let’s see if I can dig out the video tape of me on the news for the same show five years ago. Tammy, will you grant me access to your dvd burner to get this done?

  1. Hi, of course you may Tyson .. will you be breaking into my place while i’m away, or can you wait a few days? i already have my theories and suspicions about people entering my dwelling in my absence, quite often i return home and things arent quite as they should be, toilet rolls used up, bathroom cabinet violated etc. You didnt cause that accident did you Tyson by talking on the mobile? i’ve always wondered how many people hear accidents while talking on the phone.

  2. Kevin says:

Well thanks for the chance to finally see you perform. Congratulations on a successful opening weekend. Good luck with the remainder of the run.

  3. Kit says:

Another Day of Struggle

This is old content from my previous blog, EveryGoodBoyDeservesFruit.com. Check out the new stuff too.

Why is life so hard?

I was just double checking the record schedule for tomorrow (I have a computer based hard disk tv recorder with program guide etc, doncha know), and there is a conflict between the local news which I should be on for the show, and the debut of the promisingly mystifying reality/documentary series called The Steph Show, following yet another Neighbours celebrity trying to hit it big in the music industry.

Someone please tell me what it’s like.

Don’t you hate that!! Invest in a DVD recorder my friend. I spend my sundays catching up on all the crap i missed during the week. It’s a sad life i lead.

  2. BEVIS says:

In case it went straight to your junk mail folder (as has happened with my emails to people before, for some strange reason – am I *that* scary? … PS: Want a penis enlargement?), please have a look around your email account for a message from me. Ta.

  3. BEVIS says:

Also, I will no doubt be recording The Steph Show for reviewing later (unless it’s SO crap that I can’t be bothered). But now I want to know what station will be featuring YOU!

  4. BEVIS says:

That wasn’t meant to be in the past tense … I DID record The Steph Show and will let you know if it was mystifying or snoreworthy. Still curious about whatever I missed on another network that featured you, though.

    So very tired right now.

  5. I hope you went for the Steph show, definately the better option, i’m not sure i’d want Geoff Phillips making an editorial comment on me, did they have you on after the weather .. you know, just after the scripted banter between weather girl Keren Banks and Geoff?

  6. AJ says:

^^ No Tammy, for once WIN didn’t see this as a ‘fluff story’ to end the night on – it was played in amongst all the other stories they had that night… not that a lot goes on in our town to warrant a half-hour news bulletin, but anyway…!

  7. Tyson says:

Steph – Your attention span seems to be depleting nowadays. I’ll be out so I’d have to record both. I do have a hard disk recorder and they are beautiful things. Best paired with digital tv.

Bevis – I was on the local news show on WIN (the local version of Nine). I grabbed it, but the MPEG2 files don’t work well with Quicktime, but I’m working on uploading the clip.

Tammy – As AJ said, it was in amongst the heavy local news. They had another fluff story (the St. Mary’s production of Guys and Dolls).

    AJ – As you were.

  8. Zoe says:

All I can say about The Steph Show is that 1) it stole The Simpsons’ timeslot and 2) is therefore abominable.

  9. AJ says:

Something has taken the 6:00 placing of the Simpsons?!? I only thought a really really REALLY good show would take that place!!!
